The 2nd CFEE Conference — Seminar on Water Ecological Environment Safety and Health was Successfully Held

From May 10 to 13, the 2nd CFEE Conference — Seminar on Water Ecological Environment Safety and Health was successfully held in Zhoushan, Zhejiang. The conference focuses on national food security, ecological security, industrial security, and further implementation of the “All-encompassing Approach to Food”, aiming to promote high-level research on fishery ecological environment and help green and high-quality fishery development in China.

Prof. XU Pao, Director General of FFRC, Prof. LI Yingren, Chief of the Department of Resource and Environment of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences(CAFS), Prof. LI Chunhou, Chief of the Fishery Ecological Environment Discipline of the CAFS, Prof. XU Wenjun, Director General of Zhejiang Marine Fisheries Research Institute delivered their speech at the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by Prof. MENG Shunlong of FFRC.

The Conference invited Prof. LIN Qiang from South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, CAS, Prof. XU Pao from FFRC, Prof. ZHOU Zhigang from the Institute of Feed Research of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and Prof. DONG Yunwei from the Ocean University of China to deliver keynote presentations. GUO Yuanming, Deputy Director of Zhejiang Marine Fisheries Research Institute, presided over the keynote presentations. In addition, the conference set up four thematic presentation venue and two postgraduate presentation venues, organized several special presentations on Distribution Traits, Migration Patterns and Ecological Risks of Pollutants, Toxic Effects and Mechanisms of Aquatic Organisms of Pollutants, Threats of Compound Environment on Water Ecological Environment, Environmental Regulation of Fishery Production Areas and Health of Aquatic Organisms, etc. The participants carried out warm discussions on their own research and work experience. At the two postgraduate presentation venues, excellent presentations were selected, aiming to encourage postgraduate students to make solid progress on scientific research.

The conference was co-organized by Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, Freshwater Fisheries Research Centre of the CAFS, Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute of the CAFS, Zhejiang Marine Fisheries Research Institute and Institute of Quality Standard and Testing Technology for Agro-Products of the CAAS, and hosted by Zhejiang Marine Fisheries Research Institute. It is reported that 260 representatives from universities, research institutes and enterprises across China attended this conference.
